VALE VETERINARY CENTRE
V.I.P. MEMBERSHIP TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. The Plan is designed to allow for monthly payments, in advance, for treatment administered at intervals under the Plan over a twelve-month period.
2. The Plan is for preventative healthcare only and does not replace the need for a comprehensive pet health insurance policy for all treatments / medications / services not listed in the plan. Discounts for procedures and drugs are not allowable against insured conditions. If an insurance claim is likely to be submitted, please inform staff.
3. All animals are required to be up to date with vaccinations before joining the plan.
4. Preventative treatments can be commenced as soon as membership is confirmed.
5. Flea treatments will be provided as required following a discussion with your Vet to decide which will suit the needs of your pet.
6. Worm treatment will be provided as required following a discussion with your Vet to decide the right course.
7. A reminder will be sent to you when treatments become due, but it is ultimately the pet owner’s responsibility to remember these dates and not rely solely on a reminder system
8. Flea and worming treatment can only be dispensed up to one week in advance of their due date based on the date they were last dispensed.
9. It is the Pet Owner's responsibility to attend the veterinary practice for their pet’s mandatory examinations and check-ups as provided by the Plan within 30 days of the due date of examination.
10. The health check is on a 6 monthly basis and is aimed at assessing and discussing the ongoing health of your pet. It does not include the treatment of a sick pet.
11. The Veterinary Surgeon may increase the monthly fee on an annual basis and will give one month’s notice of such increase. This includes Value Added Tax which will be charged at the prevailing rate. The practice may increase their charges on products and service outside of the Plan at any time.
12. The Veterinary Practice may amend or terminate this Agreement by giving to the Pet Owner not less than one month’s notice, provided that all examinations paid for in advance under the Plan have been or will be supplied. The monthly fee must be paid until the termination of the Agreement.
13. The Pet Owner may terminate this Agreement by giving not less than one month's notice, provided that all services and examinations have been paid for as intended over the twelve-month period. Should the Pet Owner leave the Plan before this time then the full value of the remaining balance of payments must be paid immediately. This will also apply to any further discounted additional services.
14. In the event of the monthly charge being unpaid one month after it has become due, the veterinary practice may terminate this Agreement by giving notice to the Pet Owner. In that event, the Pet Owner will be liable for all monies then outstanding and due to the veterinary practice.
15. In the event that the Pet Owner leaves the Plan within 12 months, the Veterinary Practice reserves the right to make a charge equal to the discount received by the Pet Owner to date, on all products and services. The Pet Owner will not have to refund the discount in the unfortunate circumstances of the pet dying within 12 months of receiving discounted treatment, but the Pet Owner will be liable for any other fees due.
16. This contract is exclusive to the Pet Owner and is non-transferable between pet owners. It does not cover the services of any other veterinary practice. Any discounts offered as part of the Plan apply only to the named pet.
17. It is the pet owner’s responsibility to amend their payments when a price increase has been communicated.
18. It is the pet owner’s responsibility to amend their payments if their pet’s weight changes to cause them to move from one weight bracket to another (up or down).
19. Vale Veterinary Centre is not responsible for late or missed treatments. Any which are deemed late or missed will not be backdated and refunds will not be issued for these or any other benefits which have not been used.
20. Any dispute arising under this Agreement will be submitted to arbitration under the Arbitration Act 1996 at the joint cost of both parties. All Notices served under the provisions of this Agreement must be in writing and sent to the last known address of the Pet Owner by recorded delivery post.
